Great news: weed is legal in all of Massachusetts, including in the South Boston area. Even though both recreational and medicinal weed are legal throughout the state, it’s important to understand the regulations that govern marijuana use to avoid fines and penalties. You need to be at least 21 years old in order to purchase, use, or transport cannabis.

Since you can’t use weed in public in Massachusetts, it’s important that you only use weed while on private property. If you rent an apartment or home, or you’re staying in a hotel, it’s key to check with the property manager or owner to ensure that you’re permitted to use weed on their property.
