If you’re picking up some cannabis at our Orange dispensary, you may be wondering what else you can do while you’re in town. Here are 5 cannabis-friendly activities near Orange, MA that are worth checking out this winter.

Things to Do Near Orange, MA When Visiting Us at Silver Therapeutics

1. Go on a Brewery Tour!

The one not to miss is Orange’s own Honest Weight Artisan Beer. During normal times the tasting room invites you to bring your own food as well as pups. However, during the current period, all beers are to-go. From there, you can head to Deja Brew. An innovative brew pub that allows you to brew your own beer! Because they charge by the beer not by the person, it’s the perfect activity for a small group. They even offer wine making. Element Brewing and Distilling does currently have an open tap room and is offering expanded food options. Next up, check out Brick and Feather Brewery. And if you’re still looking for more, Hitchcock Brewing Company and the Outlaw Brewing Company are both nearby.

2. Stock Up the Pantry from Farm Stands and the Co-op

Orange has an array of excellent farm stands nearby. The Little White Goat Dairy offers raw goat milk, cheese and eggs. Diemand Farm offers eggs and meat as well as prepared foods. You can stock up on wine at the Quabbin Sky Vineyard, which has a tasting room open 7 days a week offering free tastes. And whatever you can’t find at winter’s farmer’s markets you’ll be able to pick up at the Quabbin Harvest Food Co-op.

3. Head Outdoors

From hiking to snowshoeing, the area has no shortage of places to commune with nature. Trailhead is the perfect place to pick up any necessary gear. Some places worth checking out include Doane’s Falls, which has a short hike with a big pay off. Millers River is another great area, as is Tully Lake.

4. Get an Adrenaline Rush Before Coming In

If you prefer to get high on adrenaline before anything, then head to Jumptown and do some skydiving on the way to Orange! Not only do they offer the oldest drop zone in the country. It is the highest rated in Massachusetts, and the safest in New England. They are open during COVID-19 with safety precautions.

5. Check Out Nearby Historical Sites and Museums

Right in town, you’ll find the “Official Peace Statue of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.” Also of historical significance is the Woman’s Christian Temperance Union Fountain, built in the 19th century, to discourage drinking alcohol by offering water. Nearby museums include the Fisher Museum Forestry Dioramas in Petersham, which has a miniature record of the history of forestry in New England, while the Fitchburg Art Museum is hoping to re-open at the start of February.

When spending time in central, Massachusetts, the greater Orange area offers up a host of great activities this winter. And don’t forget to stock up at our convenient Orange location. Silver Therapeutics is located right on South Main Street and is open during regular business hours, 10 am to 8 pm.
