4/20 in New York is coming to Silver Therapeutics this spring! Our Northeast locations are excited to celebrate the year’s best holiday on April 20th. Instead of a one-day celebration, we plan weekend-long activities to excite our NY customers about their cannabis favorites. The Roots of 4/20
One of our favorite things to debate at Silver Therapeutics is the lore surrounding the April 20th holiday. In the 1990s, an article in “High Times” traced back the origins of the term “420.” Teens in San Rafael, California, came up with the 420 term to meet up after school and search for an abandoned weed crop. The teens believed that finding the crop would pay off by supplying enough weed for them all to enjoy for years. Although the crop was never confirmed or found, the teens kept using the 420 slang to refer to smoking pot. One of the San Rafael teens would later become a roadie for the cannabis-friendly band the Grateful Dead. He helped spread the word about 420 by declaring 4:20 an acceptable time for everyone to start smoking weed for the day.
Although there’s a lot of fun surrounding 4/20 events, the date has also become very important to marijuana advocacy groups. For years, protests and educational forums have been planned on April 20th to push for widespread legalization. Gatherings in major cities around the country have helped make 4/20 a well-known holiday.
4/20 Deals in Albany and Saratoga
Silver Therapeutics will be the place to be when the weekend of April 20th rolls around. Our NY dispensary will have some of the best 420 specials in the state. Weekend 4/20 Events at Silver Therapeutics
Although 420 deals will be ongoing, the events at our dispensaries will occur throughout the 4/20 weekend. Here is what you can expect when visiting us during the event:
- Albany’s Grand Opening: Celebrate the grand opening of our newest store on Friday, 4/18 from 12-7pm! Enjoy food from Mission BBQ, brand pop-ups, treats, massages, and more!
- Saratoga’s Weekend Blowout: Enjoy 3 days of fun in Saratoga! Flower Friday, Shatterday, and 4/20 are filled with brand pop-ups, exclusive pricing, merchandise giveaways, and more! We have live music by The North and South Dakotas on Friday, and Mountain Fresh Bowls food truck will be with us from 12-3pm on Sunday. The first 70 bowls are free, so get here early!
- Fun Giveaways: To honor our valued customers, we will host 420 giveaways. All guests who visit our dispensaries over the weekend will have the chance to win amazing prizes.

4/20 at Silver Therapeutics NY
Silver Therapeutics is dedicated to celebrating 420 with our local New York communities. Our location in Saratoga Springs has attracted clients from all over the Northeast. We are one of the few New York dispensaries that offer convenient pickup and delivery services (within a 10-mile radius of our shop). Delivery and pickup limits are the same, and abide by the state law of no more than three ounces of flower and 24 grams of cannabis concentrates per day.
Our recreational cannabis dispensary is located at 75 Weibel Avenue in Saratoga Springs, New York. Shop hours are daily from 10 am to 8 pm. Delivery hours end at 7 pm daily. Delivery and pickup orders will require a valid form of identification to confirm you’re over 21. Pre-orders are available online 24/7, with same-day delivery options for most orders. Loyalty programs are offered to keep the savings coming on future orders.
